Are you ready for another God at work story? How could we ever have too many of those, right?!
We’ve been praying for a movement of prodigals heading for home. I believe we’re seeing the beginning fruit of those prayers. Once again this past week a mother stopped me to tell me that the son she’s prayed for for the last two years is showing some movement in God’s direction!
These testimonies are coming unsolicited week after week. God is up to something big. He is calling sons and daughters back to Himself. He is. And we’ve got a front row seat. We’re watching and clapping and shouting hallelujah!
Do you know what the word testimony means? According to Bill Johnson in his book Dreaming with God, “In the Old Testament the word testimony comes from the words, ‘do again.’ The implication is that God wants to repeat His wonderful works when we speak of what He has done.”
So each day I hear another story of God at work in a prodigal’s life, I whisper, “Do it again, Lord. Do it again.”
If He’s done it once for someone somewhere, He can do it again in your life and in the life of the prodigal you are praying for. He can and will woo your prodigal back from the distant country.
Is that your prayer? Will you say it with me now: “Do it again, Lord. Do it again!”
Father, we give you great glory for never giving up on prodigal hearts. Thank you for looking and longing and loving until they return home. Forgive us for growing weary in prayer, loosing heart or loosing faith. Hear our cry today and do it again – bring Your prodigals home. In Jesus Name, Amen
