Acts 4:29-30
“Now Lord, consider their treats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.
Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”
For starters, let me tell you that your prayers for me are accomplishing much inner-healing. God is at work cleaning out some old lies of the evil one and setting me free from fear! I am experiencing His power and His peace in greater ways each day and I’m ready to become a much greater risk taker for the Kingdom of God! For that I thank Him and I thank you so very much.
I’m also realizing as I spend time searching and meditating on God’s Word that we so often fear the wrong things! Adam and Eve had an entire conversation with evil incarnate and never once flinched. Yet, when God came walking in the cool of the garden, they hid themselves from His presence because they were afraid. What? How does that make sense? We see the same pattern over and over in the Bible, every time an angel shows up to deliver a message of good news men are terrified. We know the truth about our God. He is good. He is love. He has plans to give us a future and a hope. He takes great delight in us and all things work together for our good and His glory when we are called according to His purpose. There is nothing to fear with our God on His throne. Thank You, Jesus.
On this side, the enemy still rages. He comes to steal, kill and destroy but Christ is Victor. We’re not fighting to win here, folks. Christ Jesus has already won for us; so we are fighting from the winning side. My Deliverer is standing by. He has called me by name. There is still work to be done. This is a time for bold prayer and big faith. For several years now I’ve been asking God to pour out His glory, to revive His people, to show us His face. We know He alone is Mighty and that He is working ahead of us even now. He is faithful and true. There is glory for God to be squeezed out of each one of us this day.
Medical Perspective: Radiation on the brain begins Monday for probably two and 1/2 weeks. Pray for the Lord to be the Shield and Defense around my noggin! You can also pray for Dr. Birkhead and his team, please. We are asking for complete eradication and miraculous healing.
A second lung biopsy was done today to provide enough material to send to New York for analysis. Asking for favor from the Lord as Dr. Kommor seeks to make a match with my body for specialized treatment that would be effective in place of chemotherapy. Just really asking for God’s grace there! We’ll know in two weeks.
Of course we also know that at any moment, with but one word, God can transform everything. We are asking Him to do this.
So that’s the medical perspective. What is God’s truth? In Christ, death and disease are never our framework. It’s simply not a grid we live out of. We are alive with an eternal life that has already begun and there is nothing the enemy can do about that! Repeatedly Scripture reminds that Christ is our life. He has given us everything we need for life and Godliness. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. This is all about life in Him and for His great glory! Every one of my days . . . and your days . . . have been ordained.
Let’s take His invitation to abide in Him moment by moment and capitalize on that today. Who do you need to have a conversation with about Christ? Who do you need to forgive? Who is He calling you to encourage? Where is He asking you to leave fear behind and step out in faith? What do you want to see Him do? Because nothing is impossible with Almighty God!
Thank you for fighting hard by our side as we believe God for full restoration of health and the ability to obey God’s calling and direction to minister together through Further Still! There are no words that can convey our thanks.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-4 PRAISE BE TO THE GOD AND FATHER OF LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER OF COMPASSION AND THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT, WHO COMFORTS US IN ALL OUR TROUBLES, SO THAT WE CAN COMFORT THOSE IN ANY TROUBLE WITH THE COMFORT THAT WE OURSELVES HAVE RECEIVED FROM GOD
HEBREWS 12:1-4 THEREFORE, SINCE WE ARE SURROUNDED BY SUCH A GREAT CLOUD OF WITNESSES, LET US THROW OFF EVERYTHING THAT HINDERS AND THE SIN EASILY THAT SO EASILY ENTANGLES, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning it’s shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God……v3 , v4

Kristen you don’t personally know me but we have several mutual friends. I came upon your blog after hearing the news of the new journey before you. I too had a life altering challenge that hit my family like a speeding train on May 22, 2011. But with the help of my sweet family of believers my family and I can move forward with the strength only the Lord can provide. It is true. Now it’s time to stand on the truths of the Lord. His promises are real and we are not to be deceived even in the lonely anxious places or moments. I woke up this morning with you on my heart. I will continue to pray for you and your sweet family. Thank you for your blog as it is such an encouragement for all of us struggling with our challenges too. God Bless! Karen Buchanan

Kristen,
Several years ago (about ten), I had six weeks of daily radiation to my brain to halt the growth of a tumor there. It was such a time of beautiful blessings for me. The ladies of my church took turns driving me to treatments and we had some incredible moments of prayer. In addition, while undergoing the treatment, which only lasts a few short minutes, I used this time to truly connect with the Lord asking Him to direct and guide the radiation to the exact right spots for healing.
I cannot begin to tell you the connection I felt with Him during that time. The worst part of the whole thing was the first time — being fitted for the mask you must wear while treatment takes place.
I am praying that your experience with radiation will be a time when you feel God’s presence loving you and bringing you healing. You and I both know how awesome it is to feel His presence.
You are in our constant prayers and are so loved.

Hi Kristen, You have not met me but my sister is Joy Hagan. I believe it was you who interviewed them not too long ago about their ministry in China and now at U of L. Anyway, I was diagnosed with a pretty bad type of breast cancer in 2010. I had a mastectomy, 6 months of chemo and six and half weeks of radiation. If you feel you need to talk to someone (other than Jesus) please feel free to call me. You can get my number from Mike and Joy Hagan. I’m a long time member of SECC (20+ years). I talked to Jesus constantantly during my ordeal but it also helped when I talked to other Christian women who had gone through what I had gone through. I got a lot of encouragement from them. Anyway, praying for you and your family. Love your sister in Christ, Hope Proctor ps… always have hope!! hee hee 🙂
