Today we were very privileged to have Simon Mbevi from Kenya, Africa come to talk and pray with us this morning. We were discussing some doubts and fears and talking about what God’s Word has to say. Simon encouraged us by comparing facts with truth – the fact of what the doctors say about Mom and the truth of what God’s Word says. Simon was explaining how the fact is that the doctors see cancer and dealing with that diagnosis is hard, but the truth is that God is always good. So while we know the fact, we will choose to hold on to the truth and know God always keeps His Word. Simon said to pray that the fact will reflect the truth. In other words, the truth that, ” . . . by His stripes we are healed,” can eventually replace the fact of a diagnosis. And eventually that truth will be all we see.
Mom had a very good day, no tummy ache or feeling really tired. For dinner she ate a big bowl of asparagus soup that I attempted to make for her! We continue to praise God for every one of you, for keeping updated, bringing dinner, cleaning, notes, hugs, and prayer & fasting!!!
Thank you!! Ellie PS- Dad & Mom say a big thanks for praying for last Thursday. Mom had supernatural strength and even went over her allotted 20 minutes of speaking at Hats Off. Dad really was really blessed to be with the guys in Southern Indiana.

Ellie, I love you so much; you are totally amazing! The “attempted asparagus soup” had to be a gastronomical delight for Mommy to eat a “big bowl” of it–sounds to me like, attempted & achieved with perfection! Or as a dear little girl used to say, “It’s just puhfect, Joe!” I’ve been praying for Simon & his family & their work in Kenya since I met them almost a year ago. Many times I have thought that Simon should pray over Mommy because he has the gift of healing. So glad he could come. <3

Hi Kristen,
I love the title of this blog, for the date it was written, April 27th, is the anniversary of the day I went blind. I am so excited by the confirmation that came through Simon. This year will be the last time I will be without sight on the anniversary of my blindness. As Jesus tells us in John 9 verse 3, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life”, you and I have agreed to walk in faith, the journey of TRUTH, and not be limited by facts. Let us continue walking in Christ’s truth and eventually the facts will catch up!
3 John 1:4 says “I have no greater joy than to hear my children are
walking in the truth.”
God bless you and your family,
with lots of love,
Rebecca
