This is a portion from Streams in the Desert yesterday:
“My expectation is from Him (Psalm 62:5).” Our too general neglect of looking for answers to what we ask, shows how little we are in earnest in our petitions…Every prayer of the Christian, made in faith, according to the will of God, for which He promised, offered up in the name of Jesus Christ, and under the influence of the Spirit, whether for temporal or for spiritual blessings, is, or will be fully answered.”
Oh, how often I do this. I am praying constantly but often not believing what I pray will actually happen or even forgetting what prayers I prayed! I am often heard around the house saying, “No way! I prayed about that!” I am typically amazed when the Lord answers prayer, and I should be excited and give Him the glory but I should not be amazed. Instead, I should be eagerly looking and anticipating the very moment when He will answer.
Later this afternoon Mom goes in to her oncologist. We will let you know how it goes and appreciate your prayers. We know you are praying and we thank you. Please pray for no muscle pain!
And a special note to Fathers: Happy Late Father’s Day! I am especially grateful for my Dad. His love for Mom and our family is unbelievable and most importantly, his love for Jesus is a constant example for our family.
Thank you for everything! Love, Olivia
