Many of you have been asking how Mr. Drew is getting along way out on the west coast at Moody Bible Institute, Spokane. Did a little face time with him a couple of nights ago. Sure was good to see his mug on the screen! He gave me a virtual tour of his house and introduced me to house-mate Phil. Seems like he’s settling in nicely – making friends, writing papers, honing his grilling skills and cliff jumping. Yes, cliff jumping. I guess the best news is that none of the above mentioned friends or papers pushed him over the edge. Evidently, this is something he is doing of his own free will . . . for fun. 55 feet into a lake off the side of a mountain and Kurt said, “That’s about high enough, son.” Ahhh, college days.
With his permission, I grabbed this off his Facebook status from a few days back. Encouraged me. Hope it does the same for you.
“Talking on the phone with my mom today I was reminded of how unchanging and stable our God is. He isn’t like a sports team that goes on a win streak and then the next week loses every game they play, or even like a doctor’s report that is good one day and bad the next. James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” He doesn’t change even when everything else does. Keep that in mind when unstable things in your life overwhelm you.”
Thank you, Drew for the reminder, and thank You, Jesus, for being the same yesterday, today and forever.
Oncologist tomorrow. 1/2 way through radiation. Had a B-A-T-T-L-E day today. Whew! Held by the One who does not change.

Hey Kristin….you and I don’t know one another personally, but I participated in one of your Bible studies a few years back, and attended a women’s event at the Oldham campus. I do pray for you, and follow your journey. I sensed that the Lord wanted me to share with you about another young woman’s journey with the Lord through some pretty daunting health battles. You may already know of her as she and her family are from around the Louisville area. Her name is Kailen, and here is the link to her blog. May the Lord encourage you as you read about her journey and how God has been working in and through her life. Bless you as you continue to look to our amazing God and His AMAZING Grace through Jesus Christ!! Becky 🙂

It just melts my heart to hear about “Mr. Drew”! His comments immediately brought to mind a song I heard recently titled “Not for Moment (After All)”. If you haven’t heard it check it out on YouTube. (Hope the link I copied works.) The chorus is especially relevant.
