Who doesn’t have a love-hate relationship with technology? How did we ever live without it? How frustrating it can sometimes be to live with it! But, today I’m celebrating cut and paste, link and post. A dear friend played his guitar and sang this beautiful song for me just this afternoon. Maybe you’ve heard it before. I never had. That friend is on his way back to Illinois right now, but thanks to YouTube, not only do I not have to wait for his return to hear this song again, but I can share it with you right now.
I had absolutely nothing to do with the writing of the lyrics you’ll read below, but I’ll guarantee you can find every concept in the pages of my journal as I wrestle through and cling to these powerful truths about our great God. This is my testimony and I’m sure many of yours as well! (Read first. Then worship with the link at the bottom.)
Sovereign Over Us by Aaron Keyes:
There is strength within the sorrow. There is beauty in our tears.
And you meet us in our mourning with a love that casts out fear.
You are working in our waiting. You are sanctifying us.
When beyond our understanding, You are teaching us to trust.
Your plans are still to prosper. You have not forgotten us.
You are with us in the fire and the flood.
You are faithful forever, perfect in love.
You are sovereign over us. You are wisdom unimagined.
Who could understand Your ways?
Reigning high above the heavens. Reaching down in endless grace.
You are lifter of the lowly, Compassionate and kind.
You surround and You uphold us and your promises are my delight.
Your plans are still to prosper. You have not forgotten us.
You are with us in the fire and the flood.
You are faithful forever, perfect in love.
Even what the enemy means for evil, You turn it for our good,
You turn it for our good and for Your glory.
Even in the valley You are faithful. You are working for our good.
You are working for our good and for Your glory!

Thankful for God’s always perfect timing – for His words of encouragement and and truth, for the friend who delivered those words to you, and now – to others who will be reminded of God’s never ending or tiring faithfulness in our lives. Oh sovereign Father, please continue to work all these days, weeks and months of uncertainty and pain – all together for your beautiful good and matchless glory! We continue to pray for healing in Kristen’s body and for uncontainable JOY in the journey. For all these Sauders – precious gifts of Your LOVE – we thank You!

Beautiful words to reflect on. Thank you for sharing!
I was at The Cove this weekend. Fernando Ortego, who has such a tender heart, led the worship. Every session he played Give Me Jesus an old spiritual he updated, which was later sung by Jeremy Camp too. Everytime we sang it God brought you to my mind and heart, calling me to pray specifically for you.
Just Give Me Jesus… He is enough!

God bless Aaron Keyes for using his talents to magnify our mighty God. May this song reach those most in need of faithful waiting. As I lifted up my hands, I praised our Lord Who will not allow the enemy to be in the precious holy temple that is Kristen. While the song continued, I sang “Continue to kick out the enemy; your temple is holy; drive him out forever–not just for a season…” I shared Aaron’s song with a friend at work who is also faithful in prayer for Kristen & her family. It is my new commercial: A life brought to you by our Sovereign Lord!

Kristen, I only know you through your blog, but you have become an amazing inspiration to me as I use it to guide me in meditation with the Lord. You have a truly wonderful relationship with Jesus, which anyone who reads your words would envy. I pray, that God sees fit to keep you on this side of heaven for a good while longer. I would miss your encouraging words and optimism in what
Jesus has done for all believers. When I’m down I tune in to you to see how you are doing. And as always, you have some inspiring scripture or song which just blows me away. May God touch you with his healing hand.
