“Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true; and with thanksgiving I’ll be a living sanctuary for you.”
(John Thompson & Randy Scruggs)
In everything give thanks! Once during private prayer, George Mueller, realized that he had never thanked God for his socks. When the only thing I can think of that I haven’t thanked God for is socks . . . hmm. Well, let’s just say I’ve got a ways to go! This special holiday makes it easy to practice gratitude. Here’s some of what the Sauders are thanking God for right now:
Kurt- Overwhelmingly grateful for the body of Christ and their gracious care, love, concern and compassion for our family. And, so grateful for a merciful Savior who in spite of our severe struggle and difficulty never leaves us.
Kristen- Oh so thankful for Kurt and his servant leadership in our home, for my kids who challenge me with their pursuit of Christ, for friends that love like family, for Christ wearing the Victor’s crown, for hope and for . . . my fuzzy socks (thanks for the reminder Mr. Mueller)!
Olivia- I am grateful for the Lord’s mercies every single day and for paper plates so we don’t have to do dishes. And, an incredible fiancé!
Matthew- I am incredibly grateful for the chance to be with the Sauder family this week and be an encourager during this time. So grateful to room with my upcoming brother-in-law while down here, sit in the sauna and have prayer time with momma Kristen, Olivia, and Drew, and eating fantastic food! So many awesome blessings. Thank you Jesus for gracing me with the gift of marrying into this amazing family.
Drew- So grateful for a family that knows Christ as their Savior and for Matt, my soon-to-be brother-in-law. Great to be home with them for Thanksgiving! Also thankful for finding an awesome church in Spokane at Valley Fourth.
Ivy- Giving big thanks for all the godly women who have built into my life, especially those who have given me encouragement and guidance over this past year! And peas …. yeah, I’m weird!
Ellie-Thankful for supportive family and friends that stick with us and the encouragement that comes through God’s creation and His Word.
This Thanksgiving, let’s make a fresh commitment to laying it all down, picking up our cross daily and becoming a living sanctuary for Him!

We are thankful for the Sauders and their steadfast faith and Godly example. We are praising the Lord for our new to-be grandson! We love you, Matthew! Of course, we are most thankful that it is only 4 more weeks until we celebrate the birth of our Lord.

Thankful for so many blessings! Including the Sauders Family and their faithful witness and testimony of God’s love! Kristen we used this song in El Salvador on a mission trip. We could not share with some because of language barrier, we began to sing Sanctuary and our Lord filled the earthly vessels of His children. We are one in Christ Jesus. Our Lord is bound by no thing! Hallelujah to The Lamb!
