Every day I have been waking up and feeling overwhelmed with the thought that it would be impossible for me to live my life without my mom. But as I was reading 1 Peter, this verse stood out- 1 Peter 5:10, “And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” Immediately I thought, God knows the great amount that we have suffered, He will keep His word and restore us with His strength. And I realized that I have lived this far without her and although it has been very difficult, He continues to give me strength just for the day. It reminded me of the Israelites. Although their lives in the desert were also very difficult, God was with them and provided manna everyday for them to eat. But, just enough manna for that one day- no more. God is with me and provides strength for me every day, but just enough for this one day- no more. When I look at tomorrow, next week, next month and next year I get overwhelmed, thinking I won’t make it, but then when I keep my eyes focused on just today I see that I can make it and that God has given me just what I have needed to get through today.
Love Ellie

Beautifully said Ellie~ I think you have touched on something that every child of God needs to remember! We must seek first of all His Kingdom, and His righteousness, and anything else that is needful and necessary for us He will add as He sees fit…….and living ‘in the moment’, staying present, well, that’s the only time we rally have, isn’t it! The past is behind us, and the future lies ahead, but it is this day, this hour, this moment where we LIVE. And, it’s in Him that we live, and move, and have our being! Grace and Peace to you dear One…..the Lord has begun a good work in your heart, and He is taking you unto Himself and causing you to know Him not just in the power of His resurrection, but in that sacred place, the fellowship of suffering.
You are a blessing to Him, to your mom, your family, and to so many others! God bless you all~

Dear sweet Ellie,
My heart breaks for you, your siblings and your dad. I read your words and am reminded what a strong foundation your mom and dad instilled in you. The love of Jesus and His faithfulness to ” give you this day your daily bread”. So many times we are reminded in scripture that today is what we are given. Keep your eyes on Him sweet child. You and your family are an inspiration to so many. My prayers are with you all.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace (today) as you trust in him (today), so that you may overflow with hope (today) by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Ellie… thank you for these words… so true, that we need only lead on God for this one day. I, too, get overwhelmed, but you have brought me a fresh, new perspective this morning. THank you for that. What a lesson, indeed, to teach my children. I know that your mother and father have taught you well, the teachings of Christ. Your mother taught me well, also. Her bible study, God Seeker, has been like no other for me and I visit and my tent every morning. This is because your mother chose to be an instrument of Jesus. We now have 12 more hours or so to lean on Jesus, then tomorrow morning we can ask God to fill our tank again…

I think you should begin your posts with your closing…LOVE ELLIE! Because you are A LOVE to all! And such transparency, wisdom, and truth! God is the God of the insurmountable, the impossible, and you, precious Ellie! And He sees your pain, heartache, fears, and tears!
But that GRACE to endure is without end! I just love James 4:6…BUT HE GIVES GREATER GRACE! I love how you keep turning to Him, His Word, and His strength for your every need! Love that He is our All-Sufficient One!
One day at a time is the greatest approach! Just do today! With love that cannot end…
In the glorious Name of our Blessed Hope!

Hi Sweet Ellie,
I miss seeing your adorable face and beautiful smile. You truly see Jesus all over you!
May God surround you and bring favor to you and your family!
Your words are so wise! Reading that scripture is the key to starting your day.
The Christian life can have joyful times, but there are also times when nothing makes sense and when your world is crumbling down. At those times, you need to peer into the empty tomb that gives you hope, because it symbolizes the life that is yours from your risen LORD. HE LOVES YOU AND WILL MAKE A WAY.
He has great plans for sweet Ellie. Love you and please know I pray for you. Your pain is real and please know I am on my knees.
