As Christ followers, we are told to be grateful in all circumstances. We know this to be true but sometimes it’s just hard to do. I have found that even in the hard times, it’s the reminder of thankfulness that can pull me through. These are the top five things that I am continually grateful for as I look over this past year:
- 22 unbelievable years with Kristen – although I am deeply sad over her being gone, I am forever thankful to have had her and for so many wonderful memories.
- My incredible 5 kids (including my new son-in-law 🙂).
- The on-going outpouring of love and support from the Body of Christ, my Christian family.
- Carrying on in this ministry that Kristen and I birthed. In many ways we are still doing ministry together because we believed in the same things.
- I don’t know the mind of the Lord or even fully understand it, but He is all I have. I am forever grateful for a Good Shepherd that understands pain more than anyone else so I can trust the man who died for me. (From Streams in the Desert devotional)
What are the 5 things you are most grateful for? Maybe ask for everyone around your Thanksgiving table to share! That’s what will be happening at the Sauder household 🙂.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Love,
Kurt

Dear Kirk and Family,
Thank you for this post Kirk. I only knew Kristen a few short years, but she and your whole family blessed me in such an immense way. Thank you for everything you all did for me. Kristen has left a legacy and an example of a life of a faithful servant. May God surround you and your family with His comfort and love this holiday season. May you hug, laugh, and create memories together glorifying the Almighty God above.
Please know I think and pray for you daily.
Giving thanks for the Sauder family,
Charlene

Blessings to you Pastor Kurt, I can see your radiant face standing on the platform, glowing with the love of Jesus! You truly are one if those people who stand out in a crowd. I’m sure people know you have Jesus, before you ever even speak a word. Today we are thankful for you, and your family! You are truly an example of what being a Christian looks like! Thank you for being transparent with us, but also being such a wonderful example of what it looks like to be a Christian who has experienced tremendous grief but still give glory to God! We are so proud if you and your children! What beautiful testimonies you truly are! We send blessings and hugs to each and every one if you! Love the Benningfield family, Pat, Gretchen, Patrick Jr and Benjamin
