Dear Friends,
It has been a busy season for Further Still Ministries and for me personally! This past summer, the kids took full advantage of their breaks from school. Olivia graduated from Boyce College and has started graduate studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her husband, Matt, continues at Chick-fil-A and is praying about entering the ministry, as the Lord leads. Ivy just finished a run of Father of the Bride at the Oldham County Arts Center, playing the wedding planner. She continues at Western Kentucky University as a sophomore. Drew began his junior year at the University of Kentucky this fall, but he was busy this past summer working outside—chopping wood, using a chainsaw and other rugged outdoor stuff he loves. Ellie worked all summer at Chick-fil-A and began her senior year at Christian Academy this fall.
But the biggest family news I want to share is this: I recently got married! Nancy Kennedy and I said “I do” on September 3rd with just immediate family.
If you do not already have the privilege of knowing Nancy, let me tell you a little about her.
Nancy is a marketing representative for Avizion Glass. A mom of two—Griffin, 19, and Payton, 16. She has been a member of Southeast Christian Church for 25 years. I have known her for 16 of those, beginning when I met her in the church nursery. Kristen and I worked with her at church, and she was a guest on Kristen’s radio show. I actually played a round of golf with her late husband, Rory, 8 months before he passed away. That was about two years before I lost Kristen, and it turns out Nancy and I were walking parallel roads with grief. She was the only person I knew at Southeast who knew what it was like to be a single parent to teens while grieving the death of a spouse, and I have learned a lot from her. Together we would hash out the pain, confusion and complications, and she offered to pray for me. It can be an intimidating thing to pray with and for a preacher, so that meant a lot to me!
I love Nancy’s servant heart, perseverance and faithfulness to both the Lord and to her family. She also loved and admired Kristen, as I will continue to do the rest of my life. Kristen has forever marked me, and I still listen to her radio shows because I am still learning from her! Before she died, Kristen gave me her blessing to remarry, and I think she would be thrilled with Nancy.
Nancy and I plan to make a new home together in the Louisville area. Please pray that our families would blend well and we would honor the Lord through our marriage!
In the midst of all the wedding planning, there has been a lot of ministry going on. I recently returned from a 10-day trip back to Ghana to continue training pastors and church leaders to make disciples. I am still leading Soul Transformation retreats and Desert Days. The Solid Steps weekly radio show is going great! If it is an issue related to men, we want to cover it—fatherhood, financial planning, leadership, sexual addiction and the like. Solid Steps airs at 10 a.m. Saturdays on 94.7 FM and at noon on Sundays on AM 900. Programs also are available for download on SoundCloud, iTunes, the Solid Steps Radio Facebook page and at
www.furtherstillministries.org. Be in prayer for the messages and be sure to tell a friend about us!
I cannot tell you how much your prayers and financial partnership mean to me in this journey. Thank you for your faithfulness and friendship over the years!
In Christ,
Kurt

Hello. Thanking God for your ministry.
Would there happen to be a video or tape on Kristin’s “Praying for your Prodigal” workbook?
Sauder Family says
Hi Sherry, I wish we did! She was never able to record one. Thank you for asking. There are some various CDs and DVDs on our website that she was able to record. They are very encouraging and insightful. Here is the link…https://furtherstillministries.org/product-category/cddvds/.
Many blessings, Olivia

Congrats on your marriage! I met you at a juicing class you came too with Kristen not long before her passing – low and behold my husband was stricken with terminal brain cancer and after a 13 month journey passed into heaven in 2015 – leaving me single with 6 kids (one severely disabled) – yet, with God’s hand, here I am now engaged to remarry – it is a strange and beautiful feeling isn’t it? I know you get that – best wishes for a bright and beautiful future! Fully deserved!
